Meetings

MARAC holds semi-annual meetings in the spring and fall, alternating between in-person conferences, in-person symposia, and virtual conferences. The various formats offer choices in programming and cost to allow members to participate in ways that are convenient for them. Meetings offer a range of professional development opportunities, guest presentations, tours, social events, and ways to connect with fellow archivists.

We Want to Hear from You!

In the spring, in-person conferences normally take place over a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Thursdays typically offer pre-conference workshops as well as tours that highlight cultural institutions and organizations in the immediate area. Sessions on Friday and Saturday offer professional development and discussion on a wide variety of archival topics. Opportunities to connect with colleagues abound at state caucus meetings, receptions, the Saturday Membership Meeting, and more. Conferences rotate among member states, ensuring members have a meeting nearby every few years.

In the fall, a one-day in-person symposia investigate an archival topic closely in a convenient central MARAC location or virtual conferences capture all the facets of an in-person conference using an abbreviated format.
