Diversity and Inclusion Session Scholarship

Members of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee shall also be responsible for awarding the Diversity and Inclusion Session Scholarship.

MARAC's Diversity and Inclusion Session Scholarship was created to promote themes of diversity and inclusion, and social justice at MARAC conferences and to encourage professional engagement with these issues.

Submission Guidelines for the Diversity and Inclusion Session Award

This scholarship is awarded to the presenters of a session at a MARAC meeting dedicated to topics of inclusion and diversity (as defined by MARAC’s Diversity and Inclusion Definition) within the profession.

Award

  • In-person conference:  Awardees will be eligible for a collective total of up to $1,200, paid up front to go toward travel and lodging. They will also receive complimentary registration for the conference at which they present.
  • Virtual conference:  Awardees will receive complimentary registration for the virtual conference at which they present. The scholarship will also provide up to an additional combined total of $1,200 toward the cost of attending the next in-person conference.
  • Symposium: Two awards of $600 will go to the presenters of the winning talks. The awardees will each receive $600 paid up front to go toward travel, lodging, and registration for the Symposium at which they present.

Evaluation

The winning session will be chosen from among the proposals submitted and accepted by the conference Program Committee, in collaboration with Diversity and Inclusion Committee Members.

Submission of entries

The sponsored sessions will be chosen from among the proposals submitted for the meeting.

Although there is no separate application process for this award, presenters must indicate in their submissions that they wish to be considered for this award by checking a box on the online submission form.
