MARAC Education Committee
Mission and Goals
The primary purpose of the Committee is to facilitate, sponsor, and promote year-round educational offerings to archivists in the MARAC region. The Committee shall develop, coordinate, and oversee non-conference workshop offerings. The Committee also administers several scholarship programs for members: the Marsha Trimble MARAC Meeting Scholarship, the MARAC Workshop Scholarship, the MARAC Meeting Travel Assistance Award, and the Leonard Rapport Modern Archives Institute Scholarship. The Committee also reviews educational materials for MARAC and advises the Steering Committee on such material.
Operations
The Committee consists of up to nine members appointed by the MARAC Chair. The committee members should have experience with archival education, broadly defined, and should reflect the diversity of the MARAC membership. Committee members shall serve two-year staggered terms and may be reappointed.
The Committee shall keep minutes of all meetings and shall submit a written report of its activities and recommendations to the Steering Committee twice a year at least one month before the biannual meeting.
